A wise man said, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” That wise man was King Solomon of Israel who wrote over 3,000 words of wisdom we call Proverbs. A church without a vision suffers. First Baptistfbc_1351_logo Cumming has a God-given vision, which is biblically-based, God-focused and people-friendly. 

One Vision
The vision comes from John 17. What better place to get a vision for the church than eavesdropping into a conversation between Jesus and God about the church. Our vision is to be unified as a body to glorify God and reveal Jesus as God’s Son. 

Three Core Values
Three Core Values provide the foundation on which we carry out that vision. 1) The Sovereignty of God places our primary focus on God. He is the creator and we are the created. Everything depends on Him, demands our trust in Him and our obedience to Him. 2) The Sanctity of Human Life encourages our love for people. Humanity was created in the image of God. Jesus said whenever we help “the least” among us we are helping him.   People matter at First Baptist Church. 3) The Significance of the Church motivates us to organize, train and resource the church to plan and execute an Acts 1:8 strategy. The Church is called the Body of Christ and as his chosen “Bride” it is our duty to go into all the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 

Five Purposes
We are a biblically and theologically driven church with a God given purpose. Our purpose as a church is to worship God, reach people for Christ, obey God’s Word, love one another and serve others. We invite you to join us in the greatest purpose on earth. 

One Attitude
Our vision, values and purpose should be carried out with one attitude. The Apostle Paul wrote that our attitude should be the same as that of Jesus Christ who was “obedient unto death.” He gave his life away that we could live eternally with God.   The motto and attitude of First Baptist Church is “the church that gives itself away.”
